Bat Making Process

Willow Selection
We only use real English willow to make cricket bats. England has the best climate for growing willow and nothing can compare. We use all types of willow to make cricket bats, as not all players need or want high-quality willow.

Profile
Each player has a different story. This is developed by their technique, role models, and playing style. We offer a wide range of shapes suited to different styles. The right cleft is selected based on the desired weight and size.

Preshaping
All bats are handmade using traditional methods. Our in-house shapes give players full control over the profile and performance of their bat.

Suplising
Our splice and handle cutting saw ensures a perfect fit between blades and handles every time.

Handle Selection
We offer industry-leading customization: Thin to ultra-thick handles, with round, semi-oval, or oval shapes. Handle lengths include super short, short, and long.

Shaping
Using traditional woodworking tools, we finalize the shape after setting the handle: hollowing planes, drawknives, travishers, and spoke shaves.

Toe Shapes
Toes are a personal preference – we offer round, square, and ultra-round options.

Sanding
Each bat goes through three rounds of sanding to achieve a smooth, clean finish, ready for polishing.

Polishing
Polishing enhances the finish of the bat and highlights its natural grain with a glossy sheen.

Stickers
Each bat is finished with our premium edition-specific sticker sets for a unique, professional look.

Grip
Each model features a premium color grip designed for maximum durability and control.
